My Story
“Florals, botanicals and nature have been a defining presence in my life. Growing up in my family’s garden centre and spending my summers outdoors, have allowed me to be continually immersed in nature’s beauty and it’s intricate details.”
Forest Keepsake 24” x 30” Spray paint and oil on panel
My work is an exploration of nature’s details and quiet moments—those fleeting instances of stillness and subtle beauty that often go unnoticed. Through layers of spray paint, oil paint, and stencils of foraged branches and flowers, I create intricate compositions on wood panels and canvas, emphasizing the delicate interplay of light and shadow.
Starting with a monochromatic base, I build depth and contrast, allowing forms to emerge organically. My process is deeply intuitive, reflecting both the structured patterns of nature and its unpredictable spontaneity. Minimalism plays a central role in my work, distilling each scene to its essence and inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and immerse themselves in a moment of tranquility.
By capturing these serene and introspective spaces, I strive to create a sense of stillness amid the fast pace of modern life, fostering a deeper appreciation for nature’s quiet presence. My work continues to evolve as I experiment with layering spray paint in both the background and foreground, exploring the interplay of minimal colour palettes and natural objects. This ongoing exploration allows me to refine my technique while deepening the connection between art and the organic world.
